The Arc, the nation’s leading nonprofit advocating on behalf of and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer.


The Senior Graphic Designer should live and breathe design, typography, color theory, and composition. The successful candidate will create stunning visuals and possess expert understanding of multimedia design and experience building files for both print and digital. He/she will implement industry best practices to ensure final products meet the organizational needs of The Arc. The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and executing deliverables to meet clients’ timelines and ensuring each project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest print quality standards. He/she will also work to enforce proper usage of The Arc’s brand and to facilitate the process of licensing chapters to use The Arc’s visual identity. 


Essential Job Functions: 

  1. Demonstrates hands-on skills in Adobe Creative Cloud, while possessing a creative flair, versatility, conceptual ability and originality. Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts. Ability to use a MAC computer.
  2. Manages multiple projects while remaining flexible through multiple revisions and keeping a keen attention to detail with ability to proactively communicate job status.
  3. Reviews printer proofs and has the ability to prepare files for pre-press.
  4. Manages stock imagery, font licenses, merchandise, Visual Identity Guidelines and other materials related to the brand and used for creative/graphic design projects.
  5. Facilitates the process of licensing chapters to use the brand identity by recruiting chapters to sign the necessary licenses, creating and delivering artwork, assisting chapters and staff in implementing the visual identity and creating and maintaining brand implementation resources for chapters along with keeping the necessary records and benchmarks for this process.
  6. Manages the brand by monitoring and assisting chapter with proper usage and consulting with other departments and partner organizations on proper usage. Proactively monitors proper usage and enforces licensing agreement terms when necessary.
  7. Manages and oversees The Arc store.
  8. Communicates schedules to creative project team and internal clients and follow up as needed to ensure deadlines and expectations are met. Attends client meetings at the beginning and throughout the process.
  9. Coordinates and manages all final materials to and from outside vendors, including delivery of assets through ftp or email. Ability to oversee press checks and manage the proofing process.
  10. Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job.



  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in the field, or related area. Agency, corporate or nonprofit creative department experience preferred.
  • Power user of Adobe Creative Cloud software, especially proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator and knowledge on a MAC computer.
  • Knowledge of production techniques and the ability to provide time estimates for creative work. Knowledge of project management systems is essential.
  • Must possess strong cost negotiating skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced work environment with the ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of the principles of marketing, brand management, advertising, and promotions preferred.



Bachelor’s degree in Print, Graphic Design, Marketing or related field
