Graphic Designer

Position Summary:

The Arc, the nation’s leading nonprofit advocating on behalf of and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), is seeking a full-time Graphic Designer to join our growing Marking Team. The successful candidate should thrive working in a creative, fast-paced environment. Typical project work will include, print layout, digital design for social media, display graphics, infographics, and presentation materials.

The Graphic Designer will be responsible designing graphics and illustrations to support multiple project teams, including grassroots organizing, fundraising, and programs that touch on topics such as criminal justice, health and fitness, future planning for families that include a person with a disability, to name a few.

The Graphic Designer will contribute to all aspects of design, from concept to completion. The successful candidate will have creative instincts and a strong visual sense with the ability to multitask, have a keen attention to detail and troubleshooting skills in a high-volume, results-driven organization. They must have the ability to bring a creative passion to everything they do. This designer will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a senior designer and other marketing staff. This role is an entry-level position.


  • Brainstorm and design compelling creative content.
  • Assist our internal marketing team in creating and reproducing graphics for landing pages, ad/social content, and other interactive elements.
  • Identify opportunities in which graphic design will increase engagement.
  • Ability to cultivate creative projects on short notice when opportunities arise.
  • Assist in designing materials for print, digital, and events.
  • Ensure all creative is engaging and impactful, bridging passion with strategy by following The Arc’s brand guidelines.
  • Manages multiple projects while remaining flexible through multiple revisions and keeping a keen attention to detail with ability to proactively communicate job status.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Print, Graphic Design, Marketing or related field required.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in the field, or related area. Agency, corporate or nonprofit creative department experience preferred.
  • Power user of Adobe Creative Suite software, especially proficient in Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and knowledge on a MAC computer. Photography and video editing skills are not required but preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected while working in brand guidelines.
  • Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas as well as see them through to fruition.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced work environment with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of the principles of marketing, brand management, advertising, and promotions preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects in a fast paced short deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and receptive to creative feedback as well as provide collaborative feedback.
  • Non-profit/issue advocacy experiences preferred.
  • Portfolio of previous graphic design work required.
